Agnieszka Holland (1948 -)

Polish film and television director and screenwriter, Holland studies film directing in the former Czechoslovakia. Them worked in Poland Krzysztof Zanussi as assistant director, and Andrzej Wajda as her mentor where she became part of the Polish New Wave cinema.


Holland is known for storytelling that combines American storytelling with European perspective, morally ambiguous characters, and being able to reach wider audiences by being understandable and displaying complexity and an intellectual message.

German director, writer, producer and composer, Twykwer started making films when he was 11 and worked at art house cinemas, a movie projectionist, and head of programming at the Moviemento Theater.

Twykwer is known for kinetic, fast-paced, and flashy editing, plots that never stand still, and composing his own music.

Films produced by Twykwer are;
Run Lola Run (1998), The Princess and the Warrior (2000), Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006), The International (2009), Cloud Atlas (2012).

I was sick on the day of viewing the film so I do not know what is looks like, but I looked at the basic story plot. Very interesting, she must run to try and get enough money to save her boyfriends life (not the boy save the girl for once).
